Over Bob Ivens
My works (oil on canvas) are mostly humorous, seasoned with eroticism.
Giving a title to my paintings is a necessary evil, it partly deprives the spectators of their own imagination and interpretation.
Many of my works are suggestive. What happens to one funny is shocking to the other.
I always start from vague sketches, but as the canvas progresses I let my imagination run free, as a result of which the original design has changed considerably.

Mijn werken (olieverf op canvas) zijn meestal humoristisch van inslag, gekruid met erotiek.
Een titel geven aan mijn
schilderijen vind ik een noodzakelijk kwaad, het ontneemt de toeschouwers gedeeltelijk hun eigen verbeelding en interpretatie.
Veel van mijn werken zijn suggestief. Wat voor de ene grappig overkomt is voor de andere dan weer stuitend.
Ik vertrek
steeds van voorkrabbels, maar naarmate het doek vordert laat ik mijn verbeelding de vrije loop zodat kleur en tekening het originele ontwerp in grote mate doet vervagen.
